It was getting late in the day and with a 100 things to do I pondered on who and where for todays 50/50/50/.

I took myself to the local shopping parade and the first person I saw was who I would ask.

What a sweet lady.  Maritza.  Working alone in a cute ladies clothing boutique we got to talking.

Name: Maritza

Occupation: Sales Assistant in Mimis & Realtor for Keller Williams

1.Where were you born & raised?

Columbia.  Maritza moved to America in 1993 with her then husband and 3 daughters.

2.Tell me a childhood memory.

‘I had the most wonderful Dad that you can have in life. He died when I was 18.  Everything about my Dad was playing, laughing, talking and having a lovely time with my Brothers & Sisters.’

‘It was a big shock but his memory is so bright so was so smiling & wonderful. It makes me so happy to know I had this wonderful person in my life.’

Maritza’s Father died of a heart attack.  He was a Civil Engineer and very close to her and her siblings.  She wells up when she talks about him, his name was Jorge.

3.What is your favourite season & Why?

‘Winter, its nice. My hair & make up it stays fresh in the winter!’

4.Tell me about someone you love.

‘I love my Grandson, I had three daughters, I never had the opportunity to have a boy so I was always wondering how it was to have a boy.  So now I have my Grandson and I have been living with him for 7 years.  All this life wondering about having a boy..he is called Mason.  I love him so much, he is amazing, he is fun and so smart.  So completely different to the girls..another world.’

He calls his Grandmother ‘que que’.  Because Maritza always used to take him to feed the ducks at the pond so he learnt that ‘que que’ (quack quack) was associated with his Grand Mother.

5.What words of wisdom do you have for the reader about life?

‘Be happy..do everything with love.  Have a positive attitude even in bad times because you always learn something.’

6.Dreams for the future?

‘Yeah my husband…’

You want to meet a husband I ask?

‘I think I already meet my husband,  I have fallen in love.  We have been dating a little bit and I have in my heart that he is the one, that I have been waiting so long.  His name is Paul and he is a Teacher from New Zealand.’

What a wonderful woman, petite & pretty with the smiling eyes.  I hope she has found her future husband, how wonderful for her.  I imagine her with her family, caring for them & cooking for them.  Singing with her daughters and telling stories to her Grandson Mason.

She is so full of love that I hope she gets the love back that she deserves.

I am so glad to have met you today Maritza and I expect an invite to the wedding!! xx
